New Plastic Light Rods For Special Illumination Requirements

  Application Pictures:

This industrial sight glass was designed to be lit in hazardous areas where any electricity could ignite an explosion.  The light source is contained in a compact explosion proof canister and the inert fiber panel lights sight glasses up to 120" tall.  (Photo courtesy of Clark Reliance).

This MRI was designed to improve patient comfort.  Lumitex fiber optic lighting was used to give the patient the illusion of being in a larger tunnel.  The remote source allowed for the product to be made with no ferrous materials in the magnetic field.  (Photo courtesy of GE Medical Systems).

This custom line of light performs a chemical analysis on a liquid.  When light is directed in specialized ways, it can allow for very sophisticated measuring and detection.  A similar, but much smaller device was used for measuring coin diameters.

Lazer Runner used the Lumitex fiber optic product in the target vest for their laser tag game.  The fiber optic pad lights up and receives light from a laser gun.  This received light is passed to a sensor that records a hit.  The fiber optic's ability to send and receive light make it ideal for many applications.  (Photo courtesy of Lazer Runner).

This view of the fiber optic component shows several segments being lit by the same source and the sources ability to change color.  A tri-color (RGB) LED was used and by varying the input currents to each of the three chips, any color in the spectrum can be achieved.

Lumitex manufactures custom light pipes of all lengths and configurations.  This includes pipes that have a common source but branch out into may different pipes.

This conversion van uses fiber optic panels to provide low level courtesy lighting.

This panel was used in conjunction with a HID light source to provide a work area light in a explosive environment.

This shoe uses a Lumitex fiber optic backlight and a red LED.
