Lumitex releases new Fiber Optic Light Source (ILS-4) |

The ILS-4 (Incandescent Light Source, 0.4 Watts) replaces the light source previously known as the DC-2. It is 5 volts, 400 mW, has a 10,000 hour life and can light up to 400 fibers (this equates to 4 inches of width in a 1 layer panel and 2 inches of width in a 2 layer panel. This source is ideal for small LCD and Membrane Switch backlights where white light is desired. The source also works well in 1/4 VGA applications, eliminating the EMI normally associated with CCFL.
