Lumitex patented Woven Fiber Optic panels are thin and flexible, free of heat and EMI, and provide superior brightness, longer life, and significant design flexibility when compared to other lighting technologies.

Light enters the Lumitex panel through highly polished fiber ends. Computer controlled "micro-bends" cause the light to be emitted from the sides of the fibers through the cladding. Precisely engineered construction determines the pattern of light emission, based on the need of the application.

This technology is very flexible, and may be configured in almost any shape to meet customer needs. Woven Fiber Optics is currently used in a variety of medical and surgical applications including the LightMat Surgical Illuminator, Bili Blanket and ambient OR lighting.
